Kids GPS Could Save Your Life

We have all come to know that the world we live in is a dangerous place. It doe not have to be that way, but for some reason human beings in our modern societies cannot, or will not, learn to live with each other in peace and harmony. Murder, kidnappings, rape, and a host of other problems occur on a daily basis, touching lives irregardless of race, gender, or location. It does not happen to many people, but those who have to live with the aftermath of these terrible crimes suffer greatly.

The absolute worst is out there in people and we need to find ways to minimize the risk of such terrible and unthinkable things happening to us or to the people that we love. Deploy a kids gps device is one such way that we take back some of the safe feeling that has been taken from us by the evil that we know lurks in our cities. We want our children to be safe and sound, free to grow up a normal life in this world.

GPS cannot do it all alone, but it does have some useful features that can really assist a parent in helping their child navigate their environment with safety and ease. Because most child GPS device have many of the normal GPS features – the ability to calculate, track, and log position, direction, and speed information – they are great for helping a child see exactly where they are (if they have that feature enabled, like a few cell phone do).

In addition to these regular features, these devices also transmit this information to a central location where that information is processed and made available to you, the parent.

If a child is late in getting home all you need to do is run over to the computer to put to rest any fear that the child has become the victim of some deranged lunatic bent on the destruction of the life that is most precious to you. You will be able to clearly see that they are on their way home, walking at 2 mph and will be home in about 10 minutes because they are at the corner of Jefferson and Pine, just a few blocks away. If you were particularly interested in seeing your child you could even go out and meet them.

Now imagine the situation where you do find out the worst. Your child is late and you check in on your tracking information that is easily accessible on the internet. Your child is 5 miles from home at 1345 Conner Road and the signal is noticeably moving on your screen. You do a quick check of your child’s friends and see that no one you know lives there. You call your child’s cell and no one answers. In less than two minutes you are out the door with your web-enabled cell phone in hand on a B-line to 1345 Conner Road.

Your children are one of the most important things in the world, shouldn’t they be protected like there are?

GPS tracking for kids can be an important part of helping you keep tabs on your kids. Need help is your device? Check out our kids GPS tracking watch information at GPS For Today.

Kids Need GPS For Safety

By Joe Mueller

The decision on whether to buy your kid a GPS or not is a big one. The costs associated with buying these devices are not insignificant. Often times they can cost hundreds of dollars just for the device. Add to that a monthly service fee for the ability to actually use the tracker and you can be talking about hundreds of dollars a year. A GPS for your child is something that you shouldn’t consider lightly, but you should definitely still consider it.

Here is why: a GPS can give you unparalleled peace of mind as well as be the difference between life and death if there very worst were to happen to a member of your family.

The peace of mind available in knowing exactly where your child is is very helpful for you and your family. Imagine being at work and having the urge to make sure your child is safe and exactly where they are supposed to be. In the past you would have to have a cell phone where you could call your child’s school, friend’s parent, or sports coach. But with a GPS tracking watch or other GPS tracking device for kids all you would have to do is power up your computer, log in to your tracking providers website, and find out the exact position of your child in the world.

Another key feature of most kid GPS devices is that they have a feature that allows you to set boundaries for you child. If they ever go outside of those boundaries then you will automatically be notified. This is really great for those who live extremely busy lives at work but still want to keep tabs on their children. If your child breaks the boundaries that you have set up for their safety you will know about it. Different providers provide different options, but you can get an email or text message depending on your preference.

Both of these features allows you to calm any fear or concern that you might have as a parent about your child’s safety.

But what if the worst does end up happening. You are at work, busy bringing home the bacon and all of a sudden you get a notification that you child has gone outside of the boundaries that they know exist for their safety. Your child would never willingly break their boundaries because you have had talks with your child where you let them know the seriousness of doing so. This is for real.

Luckily, they have a GPS on them – tracking their location in real time for you and the police to recover your child in no time at all. Imagine being able to tell the police the exact location where you child is, what direction they are heading, and the speed at which they heading in that direction. Do you think that information would be useful in helping the police track down your child’s kidnapper? Of course!

You child could be back at home with you safe and sound within the hour – all made possible through the power of GPS. If your child is at high risk for abduction or is particularly prone to wondering, then you might want to seriously consider a GPS device for your child. The peace of mind might be worth it alone.

A GPS tracking watch can be an important part of helping you keep tabs on your kids. Need help with your device? Check out our kids GPS tracking watch wisdom at GPS For Today.

Learn About Fox News Live Feed

February 9th, 2011 by admin

By suegold

Among the standard “must have” channels among subscribers of cable or satellite TV services who are concerned about local as well as international news is Fox News. This news channel really lives up to its motto, “We report, you decide”, reporting events as they happen as objectively as humanly possible (except in the occasional editorial portion). It reports on anything and everything under the sun that is newsworthy to the majority of its viewing and listening public, from National News, to International News, local news, business and finance, politics, entertainment, sports, and just about everything else that needs to be made known publicly.

Thanks to the pervasiveness of the Internet, you do not even have to be in front of your television set at home to be able to get the latest news from this worldwide leader in news reportage. Among the sites that you can visit to get Fox News Live Feed is, of course, foxnews site! You simply direct your browser to the said site and choose among the many options available, including streaming video of the slightly delayed Fox News Live feed that you would normally see on the television screen.

Unfortunately, Fox News decided to stop this very useful feed to the detriment of millions of Internet users who had no access to cable or satellite TV. As a poor alternative, by clicking the VIDEOS button of the website, you have the option to view several multimedia files of various interesting topics at your convenience. This option, of course, provides dated information and is not the same as seeing the news as it (almost) happens.

In January, Fox News introduced a new service that enables anyone with a cell phone in the United States to access Fox News Live Feed in audio format. The monthly subscription fee for this service is $2.99. Additional per minute charges for this service applies. Cellular subscribers just have to dial “#FOXN” on their mobile phones to access this service which is available 24 hours a day, seven days per week.

While this is a good alternative to get the news, and has picked up some interest, it still falls short of the “color” that comes when video is shown together with the audio news. One critique is that, since it is a paid service rather than being free, then the content should be structured in such a way that it becomes immediately informative so that the resulting cost will not be so high.

There are several blog sites that lament the fact that Fox News has ceased to offer live feeds of its news programs, in concert with similar moves by the other major news networks. These sites express distress and disappointment over the fact that the need for breaking news in areas where there is no access to Fox News and similar news channels via cable or satellite TV. While Fox News has somehow addressed this issue with their live audio feeds via cell phones, this is not a free service and is audio exclusive. There are suggestions being made that Fox News revives their live feed broadcast via the Internet, even if this will be via membership with appropriate and reasonable service fees charged.

How to Add RSS to Your Website – Simply

By Colin Maddocks

I am primarily a web-based travel agent, making my living from selling travel arrangements from leads generated from my specialist travel websites. Over a period of time I have built many websites and when creating the last few sites I have added an RSS news feed to generate up-to-date news about that particular travel niche.

In doing so I have added another valuable resource for my potential clients and site visitors but at the same time I have added a source of continually changing content that helps my sites with regard to their search engine optimisation.

However, initially I found the great mass of articles, ebooks and software really confusing. All I wanted to know was how to be able to set up an RSS feed and then add it to my site.

After many, many hours of researching RSS feeds and buying quite a few, reasonably expensive RSS feed creation programs, I finally came across this solution, which for me, is easy to use, straightforward to set up and, more importantly, is free.

To set up, say, a “Cruise News” feed, I would find a suitable feed from sources such as www.icerocket.com, www.2rss.com or visit Yahoo’s news feeds at http://news.yahoo.com/rss .

For example, to create a feed in Yahoo I would enter my subject in the “search” box, which would result in a new page of news, relevant to cruises and cruising. I would then click on the orange RSS feed icon that will be shown on the page and the copy the resulting feed URL, (e.g., http://news.search.yahoo.com/news/rss?p=cruise&ei=UTF-8) that would appear in the IE address bar.

Next I would visit “FeedJ2s”, at http://jade.mcli.dist.maricopa.edu/feed/index.php?s=build and enter that Cruise News feed URL. Then, by pressing the “Generate Feed” button I would be able to generate the relevant “Cruise News” RSS code that I could then enter in the relevant place on my new website.

Now I am not suggesting that this is the best way you could create a useable RSS feed for your website. There are plenty of other ways and other programs out there and you can visit my dedicated website http://www.rss-feeds-4u.com) which will tell you all about RSS feeds and products.

However, if you don’t’ want to spend a lot of time or any money on setting up RSS feeds for your website, this must be the easiest way by far.

Finding your Niche News site – The Other News Source.

February 1st, 2011 by admin

By Joshua Penman

A lot of the news these days found in some or other news source(s) can be more fab, or popular and even what seems to be controversial or entertaining.
I propose looking at the other news stories out there. Not just the basic ‘happy news’ sites but really wants to focus on good quality down to earth news.

With that I recommended doing a little online research and finding sites that have appeal outside of the mainstream news media.

There is a growing trend for specialized news sites from sources other than normal news channels that are targeted to a more ‘common’ viewpoint that I believe we all share.

The topics vary, but news other than mainstream news, more topical news finds its way into the hearts, minds and web searches looking for other niche news sites online more and more each day.

Some websites offering news that I would recommend are for the economy minded: www.TheEconomicNewsSource.com, for those that want to stay ‘on top of the news’ check out www.OnTopofTheNews.net even www.TheOtherNewsSource.com might be worth a view.

There are many sites that cover many news topics other than the norm: Earth, Green or Eco, Economy, Money or Currency, just local news,

There are many to choose from, bookmark, add rss feeds to your feed reader. Many ways to stay on top of the news that you really want to be reading about and seeing on a daily basis.
So start searching for your niche news site and enjoy.
